Happy August!
I thought I’d give my new but barely used blog a little workout by hosting the awesome WIPMADNESS folks for their checkins this month. What is WIPMADNESS? Why, a most awesome hashtag on Twitter that links up writers who want some accountability, camaraderie and fun while pumping out those manuscripts. Check-ins will be here every Monday during August, and YES there will be giveaways! But if you’d like to get your goals set at the beginning of the month, feel free to comment here and say hi. Otherwise, I’ll see you on Monday, Aug. 6th.

Ooh, thanks for hosting this month! Will check in tomorrow!
Also the blurb from your upcoming book sounds really intriguing! Congrats!
Hmm. I participate in another goals forum, but even since stating them I’ve had some changes and epiphanies. So here’s a revised version that contains the fundamentals:
1. Do Camp NaNo for JACK GARCIA AND THE PROBLEMS WITH PIXIE DUST (which may go back to its original title of A LIKELY STORY since that one may or may not work). Not to win, but to use the time to get a story out of my head, and *create*. I feel so much better when I’m making something new, and this urban fantasy pro-fic has been eating at me (plus I am ready to start writing it in earnest, since I’ve done more than enough planning, and I’d like to have something to show the OC).
2. Finish final revisions on SIGN OF THE STAR. Which is finally nearing completion, but I needed the above mental break to keep me from the crazies. And more beta feedback has told me how I need to make a tiny but fundamental change that will affect *everything*. Just taking a tiny break for now. Will address it in the next two days, though.
3. Beta-read a YA novel for a published acquaintance of mine. Which may not happen until I’m on a road trip at the end of the month, but it’s still my goal.
Really, that’s about it.
